The fourty-two principles of Ma’at

Do not kill, nor bid anyone kill; Do not commit adultery or rape; Do not avenge thyself nor burn with rage; Do not cause terror; Do not assault anyone nor cause anyone pain; Do not cause misery; Do not do any harm to man or to animals; Do not cause the shedding of tears; Do not wrong the people nor bear them any evil intent; Do not steal nor take that which does not belong to you; Do not take more than thy fair share of food; Do not damage the crops, the fields, or the trees; Do not deprive anyone of what is rightfully theirs; Do not bear false witness, nor support false allegations; Do not lie, nor speak falsely to the hurt of another; Do not use fiery words nor stir up any strife; Do not speak or act deceitfully to the hurt of another; Do not speak scornfully against others; Do not eavesdrop; Do not ignore the truth or words of righteousness; Do not judge anyone hastily or harshly; Do not disrespect sacred places; Do cause no wrong to be done to any workers or prisoners; Do not be angry without good reason; Do not hinder the flow of running water; Do not waste the running water; Do not pollute the water or the land; Do not take God’s name in vain; Do not despise nor anger God; Do not steal from God; Do not give excessive offerings nor less than what is due; Do not covet thy neighbor’s goods; Do not steal from nor disrespect the dead; Do remember and observe the appointed holy days; Do not hold back the offerings due God; Do not interfere with sacred rites; Do not slaughter with evil intent any sacred animals; Do not act with guile or insolence; Do not be unduly proud nor act with arrogance and do not magnify your condition beyond what is appropriate; Always do no less than your daily obligations require. Obey the law and commit no treason.

Chapter 1 [Introduction]

Love justice, you that are the judges of the earth. Wisdom will not enter into a malicious soul, nor dwell in a body subject to iniquities. Wisdom will flee from the deceitful, and will withdraw herself from thoughts that are without understanding, and she shall not abide when iniquity comes in. For The Spirit of Wisdom is benevolent, and will not acquit the evil speakers from their lips. For The Spirit of Wisdom has filled the whole world: and that, which contains all things, has knowledge of the voice. Therefore whose that speak unjust things cannot be hid, neither shall the chastising judgment. For inquisition shall be made into the thoughts of the wicked: and the hearing of their words shall come to the chastising of their iniquities. For the ear of jealousy hears all things, and the tumult of murmuring shall not be hid. Keep yourselves therefore from murmuring, which profits nothing, and refrain your tongue from detraction, for an obscure speech shall not go for nought: and the mouth that belies, kills the soul. Seek not death in the error of your life, neither achieve ye destruction by the works of your hands. For Wisdom made not death, neither has she pleasure in the destruction of the living. For she created all things that they might be: and she made the nations of the earth for health: and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor kingdom of perdition upon the earth. For justice is perpetual and immortal. But the wicked with works and words have called it to them: and esteeming it a friend have fallen away, and have made a covenant with it: because they are worthy to be of the part thereof.

The Birth of a New Science

The comparative study of all the mythologies of the world compels us to view the cultural history of mankind as a single unit. Such themes as the fire-theft, the deluge, the land of the dead, the uniqueness of God, the virgin birth, and the resurrected heroes, have a worldwide distribution, appearing everywhere in different times, in each and every civilizations, in new combinations while remaining, only a few but always the same. While in tales told for entertainment, such mythical themes are to be taken lightly, in religious and mystical contexts, they are intended not only to be accepted as factual but also, even represented as divine revelations from which entire cultures have or are to derive both their spiritual authority and temporal power. No human society, ancient or modern culture has yet been found in which, such mythological themes have not been repeated in liturgies, interpreted by prophets and vaticinators, poets and authors, theologians or philosophers; presented in art; magnified in song, hymns and psalms; and ecstatically experienced in life empowering visions.

Indeed, the chronicle of our species, from its earliest page, has been not an account of the progress of man the toolmaker, but even more tragically, a record of the pouring of blazing visions into the minds of seers and the efforts of earthly communities to incarnate unearthly covenants. Every society, every culture of the past has received its own seal and sign of supernatural designation, communicated to its heroes and daily proved in the lives and experience of its folk. And though many who bow with closed eyes in the sanctuaries of their own tradition rationally scrutinize and disqualify the sacraments of others, an honest comparison immediately reveals that all have been built from one fund of mythological motifs variously selected, organized, interpreted, and ritualized, according to local need, but revered by every people on earth.

Mankind, apparently, cannot maintain itself in the universe without the belief in some arrangement of some kind of general mythical inheritance. In fact, for all mankind, the fullness of life would even seem to stand in a direct ratio to the depth and range not of his rational thought but of his local mythology.

Why is it that for too many societies and cultures, there is no possible personal empowerment without the existence and the belief in so many and such unsubstantial mystical and mythological themes?

Why is it that so many people are lacking of such ego that they cannot have a destiny of their own?

Why is it that whenever men and women, even today, when they decide to empower themselves, more than often, always elect to do it not on the facts in which the world abounds, but rather on some mythical and immemorial irrational imagination of the facts of life and the reality of their existence?

Would it not be easier for mankind, instead to make life a living hell for themselves and their neighbors, in the name of some more or less rational, merciless abundance of gods, to gracefully accept the plenteousness the world provides?

How long are the modern civilizations to remain spiritually locked from each other in their local ritual entrenchment and false notions of the sense of the general tradition? 

Would it not be better and more productive for everyone and all people to come to some more profoundly rational and systemic based point and counterpoint of human understanding?

While we have to agree that it is a fact of life that the myths and legends of our several cultures work upon us, whether consciously or unconsciously, as some possibly energy-releasing, life-motivating and directing agents, one is to observe that even though our rational minds may be in agreement, the myths and fabulations by which we are living, or by which our fathers lived, can be driving us, at that very moment, more and more diametrically apart.

Fresh insights in psychological research, comparative symbolism, religion, mythology, philosophy and science are now suggesting a new possible image of the possible fundamental unity of the spiritual and metaphysical history of mankind. No one, as far as I know, has yet tried to compose into a single picture the new perspectives that have been opened to us by the scholarship of recent years.

Without straining beyond incommensurable amount of evidence already on hand, but simply gathering from it the fundamentals of a new unitary systemic science, in the days to come, I will, demonstrate, once and for all, through the natural history of the gods and heroes of all time, that we have now reach the final frontier of mankind intellectual absurdity and that it is now time for humanity to take a step forward, not to say backward.

Believing in the divine beings will never drive mankind anywhere else than straight into a living hell.

Au Brésil, une manifestation monstre contre l’augmentation du coût de la vie

BRASILIA – Des milliers de jeunes se massent aux portes du Parlement après des heures de manifestation.

Au moment où le Brésil connaît un ralentissement économique, des dizaines de milliers de Brésiliens descendent dans la rue pour protester contre l’augmentation du coût de la vie et la facture astronomique de la prochaine Coupe du Monde. La principale manifestation s’est tenue lundi à Rio de Janeiro où 100 000 personnes se sont rassemblées, alors que 65 000 se rassemblaient à Sao Paulo, la capitale économique du pays.

Un taux de chômage sans précédent pour l’Italie

ENRICO LETTA, Le nouveau premier ministre Italien sur la sellette

ROME – Plusieurs dizaines de milliers de personnes manifestent à Rome contre la politique d’austérité Italienne et le taux de chômage élevé.

Samedi 18 mai, à l’appel du syndicat des métallos Fiom et réunis sous le mot d’ordre “le droit au travail, à l’instruction et à la santé”, des milliers de manifestants ont enjoint au gouvernement de coalition d’Enrico Letta de se concentrer sur la création d’emplois. “Nous espérons que ce gouvernement finira pas nous entendre, parce que notre patience est à bout”, a déclaré un manifestant, au milieu d’une foule réclamant plus de droits pour les travailleurs et de meilleures conditions de travail. Plus de 100000 participants et manifestants étaient rassemblés et scandaient des slogans tels : “On ne peut plus attendre” et “Il nous faut de l’argent pour vivre”.

La confiance dans le gouvernement de coalition piloté depuis avril dernier par Enrico Letta, élu sur sa promesse de faire de la création d’emplois sa priorité commence déjà à s’éroder. Samedi, certains manifestants lui ont reproché de revenir sur son engagement D’autres participants à la manifestation ont émis des doutes quant à la capacité du successeur de Mario Monti et à sa coalition fragile d’agir avec efficacité. “Ce gouvernement ne va pas durer longtemps. Ce qu’il nous faut, c’est un nouveau parti de gauche qui se batte pour les droits des gens.” avance un manifestant.

L’Italie s’enfonce dans sa plus longue récession enregistrée depuis qu’elle établit des statistiques trimestrielles, en 1970. Le taux de chômage approche un sommet, avec notamment 38 % des jeunes sans emploi.
